What makes 7Tones different from other art classes?
Our lessons are approached organically; we show the creative process within the lesson rather than following a strict curriculum. We remain flexible to leave room for each student to find their own way, problem solve, and explore. It is also in this way we strive to stay responsive to each unique need, learning style and interest of the student. We are a group of trained artists from different backgrounds, brought together by a passion for teaching, and the result is art that is unique and special from every student!

What is the age range and how many students are in a class?
In our program, our students can range from tiny children to full-grown adults. We provide several different classes with different age ranges, and you can check them out on our Classes & Passes page! A minimal number of students per class is prefered at 7 Tones, so in general our classes have around 8 students, though it may vary depending on situation.

Are students supplied the materials?
Part of the materials will be covered, but we will recommend different materials to students, based on their own unique needs and skill sets.

Can I register in the middle of the term?
If it happens that you register during a time when the rest of the class had already begun on a project, we will decide whether or not to put you in that class, depending on if we believe you will be able to catch up. But in most cases, registration is available and conflict-free all throughout year.

How should the student come prepared for class? Should they bring a snack?
Students are required to bring their sketchbooks and materials, depending on their class, and snacks are allowed with moderation.
How does registration work?
Once you have decided on a program to enroll in, visit our registration page and fill in the application form. We would prefer if you register at least a week in advance prior to your first class. Once a student's program pass or session expires, you have the opportunity to purchase more classes without re-registering your child. Sales and discount information is available through our email newsletter, so be sure to sign up!

When do classes begin?
Classes are ongoing all year-round for our location in North York and Markham. 7Tones in Midtown (228 Merton) has semestered classes which can be viewed here, in the sidebar.
Upon registration, you will be asked to provide a specific date to begin class.

Are there free trial classes?
We offer trial bundles; 3 classes for $45, but contact us for further details!

What are the methods of payment? Are refunds or credits available?
Payments can be made by person and/or online. We offer refunds in the form of credits, so you will be getting back all the classes you wish to cancel, and you may even gift them to others!
